why should some one look for cloud hosting rather than VPS hosting
Posted by: Chris.G - 11-05-2016, 04:10 PM - Forum: Cloud Hosting - Replies (1)

I have many VPS for my clients using openvz node of mine. But many ask me the question whether we are planning to start Cloud VPS soon or not.

I am still not clear the very benefit of cloud hosting than my current OpenVZ node.. Can some one shed some light on this

I need your suggestion whether I should use registrar nameserver / nameserver on the same hosting server / or any public dns services or setup a dns cluster.

I have more than 600 domains in my dedicated server and many ask the best option and its pro's and cons etc

Lightbulb User Cron jobs not working in cpanel
Posted by: Chris.G - 11-05-2016, 05:12 AM - Forum: Dedicated Server Hosting - Replies (4)

Hi

I have a cpanel server and the cpanel cron jobs are not at all running. I can see them when I use command " crontab -l -u chris "  but in the cron log , I am not seeing any thing for this running.

Do any of you have any idea in this case ? The only recent change made to the server which was near to 2 week before is server hardening.

What are the possible risks of enabling Shell Access for Shared Hosting clients ?
Posted by: Techyllinux - 11-01-2016, 03:24 PM - Forum: Shared Hosting - Replies (3)

Hi Guys,

I have heard a lot that "do not enable shell access for shared hosting customers". I never understand why that should not be given to customers  by default .  What should be a proper procedure for some one who wish to get shell access

Can some one shed some light on this ?

Lightbulb DirtyCow Linux Kernel Vulnerability
Posted by: Techyllinux - 11-01-2016, 03:11 PM - Forum: OS updates / Patches / Vulnerbilities - Replies (1)

Recently a new Vulnerability is found and is very critical one . So Hurry upto get it upgraded asap

A race condition was found in the way the Linux kernel's memory subsystem handled the copy-on-write (COW) breakage of private read-only memory mappings. An unprivileged, local user could use this flaw to gain write access to otherwise read-only memory mappings and thus increase their privileges on the system.
